Privacy Policy

Effective: September 6, 2026

"GolfClip" (the "App") is an iPhone app, provided by an individual developer (the "Developer"), that automatically clips individual golf swings out of a longer practice-session video. This policy explains what information the App collects and how it is used.

1. Video and Photo Library (PhotosUI / AVFoundation)

The App reads a practice video you select from your photo library and detects and clips individual swings entirely on your device. Neither the imported video nor the clips it produces are sent to the Developer's servers. If you choose to save a clip, it is written to your device's photo library (Camera Roll).

2. Pose Estimation (MediaPipe)

To detect swing segments automatically, the App analyzes body pose landmarks (joint positions, etc.) from video frames using an on-device machine learning model (MediaPipe). This analysis runs entirely on your device; no video data or landmark data is sent to any server.

3. Google Drive Backup (PRO feature)

Users who purchase the App's PRO feature can save clipped swings to their own Google Drive. This feature uses the Google Drive API's drive.file scope, a limited permission that only allows access to files the App itself creates — it cannot access any other files in your Google Drive.

GolfClip's use and transfer of information received from Google APIs adheres to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. Authentication credentials (access and refresh tokens) are stored only in the device's Keychain and are never sent to or stored on the Developer's servers.

4. Purchase Information (StoreKit)

Payment for the App's paid feature (a one-time, non-consumable in-app purchase) is processed through Apple's StoreKit. The Developer does not collect or retain purchasers' names, addresses, or payment details.

5. Advertising Identifiers and Tracking Data

The App uses Google AdMob to serve ads. Tracking data such as the IDFA is shared with Google AdMob only if you grant permission via the App Tracking Transparency (ATT) prompt. If you decline, no data is shared for tracking purposes.

For users in regions covered by GDPR (the EEA, UK, etc.), the App displays a consent form via the Google User Messaging Platform (UMP) to obtain consent for advertising.

Regardless of your ATT choice, the Google Mobile Ads SDK may collect the following data for ad delivery, fraud prevention, and performance measurement:

For details on how Google handles this data, see How Google uses information from sites or apps that use Google services and the Google Privacy Policy.

6. Analytics and Crash Reporting

The App does not integrate any third-party analytics SDK such as Firebase. Crash reports are collected through Apple's standard mechanism (App Store Connect crash reports); the Google Mobile Ads SDK described in section 5 may also collect crash and performance data for its own quality improvement.
